Summary
Supplementary funding for Toronto Arts Council grant recipients to cover accessibility costs for Deaf artists and artists with disabilities. Covers sign language interpretation, audio description, captioning, communications assistants, support workers and attendant care, transportation, equipment and technology rentals, software licenses, small equipment purchases under $100, mental health supports directly related to the project, and other accessibility needs identified by the artists. Applicants may apply at any time during their associated TAC-funded project; results within 4 weeks when applied concurrently with the project grant. Contact: access@torontoarts.org. Eligibility
Recipients of, or concurrent applicants to, an eligible TAC project or strategic grant whose project involves Deaf artists or artists with disabilities. The accessibility grant cannot be requested alone; concurrent funding is conditional on the associated project grant. Applicants must remain within the two-year window from the associated notification letter, have no overdue final report, and identify confirmed Deaf or disabled contributors and their access costs. The program does not fund audience or participant access costs except approved exceptions, capital purchases, building renovations, long-term rentals, artist fees, costs for unconfirmed contributors, or support for writing a TAC application or final report.
