Summary

Two-part NIDMAR-administered initiative for BC workplaces to assess, develop, or improve Disability Management and Return to Work programs. Section 1 provides a fully-funded workplace program assessment using NIDMAR's Workplace Disability Management Assessment (WDMA) tool, conducted by licensed CDMP-certified auditors. Section 2 provides employers a subsidy of up to $7,500 to implement gap analysis recommendations from that assessment. Mirrors the 2008 BC DM Excellence initiative that improved Return to Work outcomes across the BC health care sector (covering 150,000 workers, 4 unions, over 200 employers). Part of a one-time $6 million NIDMAR grant funded by the Canada-British Columbia Workforce Development Agreement; 2026 is the final year to access this funding stream. Apply by emailing nidmar@nidmar.ca with the WDA Grant application form (or fax 778-421-0823, or mail NIDMAR, 4755 Cherry Creek Road, Port Alberni, BC V9Y 0A7). Contact: Steve Inouye, Director of Program Assessments, steve.inouye@nidmar.ca.

Eligibility

BC organizations of all sizes (Private, Public, Not for profit per the WDA Grant application form) across all sectors. The application form is for organizations located in British Columbia only. Must complete the fully-funded NIDMAR Workplace Disability Management Assessment (WDMA) first; the implementation subsidy is only available after the assessment is complete.
