Summary
SHORE funds waterfront and shoreline projects in the Columbia Basin, and accessibility is one of several eligible purposes alongside recreation, gathering spaces, water safety, wayfinding, shoreline naturalization and climate adaptation. Accessibility is named explicitly in the program guide, including ramps, pathways, foot bridges, beach mobility mats, aquatic wheelchairs and lifts, accessible washrooms and change areas, and rubberized or engineered wood fibre playground surfacing. Stream 1 funds planning and design, including accessibility assessments, and stream 2 funds the physical works. Marina or motorized boat launch development, routine maintenance, and projects that reduce recreational access to the water are not eligible.
Eligibility
Local governments and First Nations communities within the Columbia Basin Trust region in southeastern British Columbia. Projects must take place on land already owned by the local government applicant or forming part of a First Nations community.
