Summary
Funds retrofits, repairs, upgrades, or new construction of community buildings to improve environmental sustainability and/or building accessibility. The 'Improving accessibility' track explicitly funds ramps, lifts, automated doors, accessible washrooms/kitchens/workspaces, wayfinding, wheelchair accommodation, lighting/acoustics for visual/auditory impairments, and accessible recreation equipment. New builds must obtain a generally accepted accessibility certification; retrofits do not require certification. Applications closed; check back fall 2026.
Eligibility
Registered charities in Canada, including hospitals, cultural institutions, community centres, and other registered charities. NOT eligible: post-secondary institutions, daycares, non-profits that are not registered charities, playgrounds, long-term care facilities, or camps. Organization must own the space or have a lease with at least 5 years remaining and owner permission.
