Summary

The Parasport and Recreation for Persons with a Disability Funding Program, administered by Recreation NL, increases opportunities for persons with a disability to take part in parasport and recreation through education, awareness, and capacity building. It funds four streams: adaptive and inclusive equipment, travel assistance for competition and training, parasport and recreation development projects, and instructor or coach training. Funding comes from a bilateral agreement between the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador (Department of Tourism, Culture, Arts and Recreation) and the Government of Canada (Sport Canada). The program runs on an ongoing basis with two annual application deadlines; the most recent were October 24, 2025 and February 20, 2026, which have passed, and the 2026-2027 dates are not yet posted.
