Summary

Provincial grant in three streams (leadership, physical literacy, and sport for all) that strengthens physical literacy and reduces barriers to sport participation for children and youth. The programme serves several equity-owed groups, not accessibility alone: Indigenous peoples, persons with a disability, women and girls, youth experiencing financial barriers, 2SLGBTQIA+ people and newcomers. Disability is named directly in the funder's own eligible costs, since the sport for all stream funds adaptive sport equipment and the leadership stream funds Coaching Athletes with a Disability training. The leadership stream is capped at $15,000 per year and requires a cash or in-kind commitment worth 25 per cent of the initiative. The physical literacy and the sport for all streams both cap provincial organizations at $10,000 per year and regional organizations at $5,000 per year. Four intake dates apply to regional applications, published by the funder without a year, and funding is processed three to four weeks after each intake date. The sport for all stream lists adaptive sport equipment at 100 per cent of cost to a maximum of $10,000, which conflicts with that $5,000 regional ceiling, and the funder's page carries a second, incomplete sentence on the same cap, so confirm the applicable ceiling with the branch before budgeting. Regional organizations apply through the Sport and Recreation Branch consultant for their region; provincial organizations apply by email to sr/sl@gnb.ca.

Eligibility

New Brunswick community organizations in collaboration with schools, Indigenous communities, local community sport or recreation organizations, multi-sport organizations, municipalities or recreation councils, non-profit organizations, provincial sport organizations, regional service commissions, and regional sport organizations.
