Summary

Capital grant for small projects and retrofits that improve accessibility for people with disabilities and older adults. 2026-27 cycle was the second round; the official guidelines state the grant was launched in 2025-26. Eligible projects include accessible washrooms, ramps, automatic door openers, mobility mats at beaches, charging stations for mobility devices, barrier-free paths of travel, accessible pool access, and accessible seating. Priority for projects that go above and beyond AODA and the Ontario Building Code. 2026-27 cycle closed May 7, 2026 at 5:00 p.m. ET. No future round has been announced. Funded projects must take place between October 1, 2026 and October 31, 2027, and new building construction is not eligible.

Eligibility

Ontario municipalities, Indigenous governing bodies, and not-for-profit legal entities incorporated in Ontario or Canada and operating for at least one year. Ineligible: individuals, for-profits, federal or provincial agencies, boards or commissions, private foundations, unincorporated bodies, lobbying organizations, applicants in default of an Ontario grant, residential housing organizations other than qualifying group homes, transition homes or shelters, schools, postsecondary institutions, hospitals and long-term-care homes. Applicants need property-owner permission where they do not own the project site.
