Summary

Funds organizational projects that improve accessibility and safety for persons with disabilities in community spaces and workplaces, with Youth Accessibility Leaders as required partners. The 2025 call offered up to $12,000 per organization per stream, for projects completed within 12 months. Organizations could submit one Community Accessibility and one Workplace Accessibility application, two in total; applications were screened on a first-come, first-served basis. Eligible activities include renovation, construction or retrofit work, accessible equipment including adaptive sport equipment, and ICT such as speech recognition, screen readers and braille keyboards. Excluded costs include staff pay, computers or tablets, rebate-eligible taxes, motor vehicle purchases or modifications, aesthetic renovations, and non-hardened pathways or trails. The organizational deadline was November 3, 2025. ESDC still lists the component as not accepting applications; no next call or annual schedule is announced on the checked pages.

Eligibility

Eligible organizations are not-for-profits, including school boards and public universities and colleges; small businesses with 99 or fewer full-time equivalent employees; Indigenous organizations; municipalities; and territorial governments. For-profit activities must be non-commercial and not intended to generate profit. Federal and provincial governments cannot apply. Public health care facilities and public hospitals are excluded, including projects on their property. Government of Canada property and private dwellings are also excluded. Qualifying private health facilities may be eligible.
