Summary
Provides funding for immediate workplace accessibility updates that support hiring, retention or continued employment of people with disabilities. Projects remove systemic physical or digital barriers, rather than meeting an individual's accommodation needs; eligible activities include retrofits, accessible technology and shared adaptive equipment. Projects must be ready to start within six months of application and finish within 12 months of the agreement start date; costs incurred before the funding agreement is signed are not reimbursed. Website creation and remediation receive 50% of quoted costs, with accessibility audits eligible only alongside website improvements.
Eligibility
Canadian nonprofit organisations, for-profit organisations with up to 99 full-time equivalent employees, municipalities, Indigenous organisations and territorial governments with an immediate workplace accessibility need. Federal and provincial governments, Crown entities, public health facilities, home child care and most public-school or residential projects are excluded; qualifying child care employee projects and shelter workplaces may be eligible. A CRA business number is required; only one application per location per CRA number is accepted.
