Summary
Funds culturally responsive, arts-based projects for youth under the 2027 theme Youth in Culture, and names accessible arts initiatives designed by and for youth with disabilities, using adaptive or sensory-friendly approaches, among the projects the theme supports. Broader scope: accessibility is one of several eligible directions, alongside newcomer, racialized, Indigenous-led and other equity-focused youth arts projects; every project must show how it reduces barriers to participation, and the theme changes each year. Grants go up to $5,000 or 50 per cent of project costs, whichever is less; major capital costs, fundraising projects and projects already funded by another City grant are ineligible. Eligibility
Not-for-profit organizations governed by volunteers, collectives with a legal entity, and Business Improvement Areas that are located and active in Mississauga year-round, have a history of delivering arts projects and are in good standing with the City. Projects must be arts, culture or heritage focused, take place in Mississauga and be open to all Mississauga youth. Applicants must be 18 or older; youth-led groups with leaders under 18 need an eligible arts and culture sponsor, which may not charge a fee. Individual artists, educational institutions, government agencies and for-profit organizations are ineligible.
