Summary
Funds the artistic practice, professional development, and recognition of professional D/deaf and disabled artists in Montreal, including research and creation, production, presentation of artistic events (organizations only), and placements inside professional arts organizations. Applications are assessed by a peer jury made up mostly of D/deaf and disabled artists and cultural workers. There is only one call for applications per year; the 2026 call closed July 15, 2026. In 2025 the Conseil funded 8 of 46 eligible applications for a total of $93,400. Contact: ligia.borges@montreal.ca.
Eligibility
Professional D/deaf and disabled artists; collectives with at least one D/deaf or disabled member; and non-profit arts organizations with at least one D/deaf or disabled director, representative, or lead creator, or whose mandate includes the creation, production, and promotion of disability art. Applicants must be domiciled or headquartered on the island of Montreal. Teaching and training organizations are not eligible.
