Broader scope: supports eligible commercial interior renovations, with an AODA accessibility top-up for work such as ramps and accessible public washrooms. Base funding is 50% to $20,000; accessibility support adds up to $4,000, for $24,000 combined. Multi-unit support can add $4,000 per additional unit, up to five units and $20,000. Design fees can qualify to $2,000 within the base grant. At least three improvements and $5,000 of work are required. Applications are closed; no next round is announced.
Eligibility
Owners and tenants (with the owner's written permission) of street-level commercial properties in Toronto that are vacant, or occupied properties affected, or likely to be affected, by major transit expansion construction or that previously received the Canada Emergency Rent Supplement (CERS). Properties must be used for commercial purposes at street level or have direct street access from another floor. Places of worship, institutional buildings, not-for-profit commercial buildings and residential buildings are ineligible; business chains and franchises may submit only one application. At least three eligible improvements and $5,000 of work are required.
