Summary
Federal program supporting renovation projects and acquisition of specialized equipment for arts and heritage cultural spaces across Canada. Systems and measures to improve accessibility are eligible, and support is generally up to 50% of eligible costs. Applications are being accepted only for projects with eligible expenses from April 1, 2026 through March 31, 2028 while funds remain. Projects beginning or incurring expenses after April 1, 2028 are not accepted. Planning/design documents, feasibility studies and facility assessments are no longer accepted; construction is accepted only in exceptional circumstances.
Eligibility
Incorporated not-for-profit arts or heritage organizations active in their mandate for over two years; provincial or territorial governments; municipal administrations and agencies, including post-secondary institutions; and Indigenous governing bodies or agencies. For renovation, construction or specialized-equipment installation, applicants must own the space or hold a minimum five-year lease with written owner permission, and must have other project-funding sources. Federal entities, unincorporated organizations, for-profits and individuals are ineligible.
