Summary
Funds renovation and specialized equipment for arts and heritage spaces, including accessibility measures, generally up to 50% of eligible expenses. Current applications concern eligible expenses from April 1, 2026 through March 31, 2028 while funding remains; later projects are not accepted. Planning, design, feasibility studies and facility assessments are no longer accepted, and construction requires exceptional circumstances. Eligibility
Incorporated nonprofit arts or heritage organizations active for over two years; provincial or territorial governments, municipalities or their agencies including post-secondary institutions; and Indigenous governing bodies or agencies. Government and Indigenous applicants need a demonstrated arts or heritage commitment. All must meet professional standards, compensate artists, creators and practitioners, and offer programming to Canadians or their communities. Space projects require ownership or a five-year lease with permission, plus other funding sources.
