Summary
Federal program supporting renovation projects and acquisition of specialized equipment for arts and heritage cultural spaces across Canada. Application Guidelines explicitly list 'Systems and measures to improve accessibility' as an eligible expense and identify up to 50% of total eligible expenses as the funding cap. Evaluation criteria reward projects that reduce or remove barriers for persons with physical, mental, intellectual, or sensory impairments. D/deaf people and people living with a disability are named priority equity groups. Currently restricted: planning/design/feasibility/facility-assessment projects not accepted; construction by exception only.
Eligibility
Incorporated not-for-profit arts and/or heritage organizations active in their arts or heritage mandate for over 2 years; provincial/territorial governments; municipal administrations and their agencies (including post-secondary institutions) with a demonstrated commitment to arts or heritage activities; Indigenous governing bodies or agencies with a demonstrated commitment to artistic, heritage, or cultural practice.
