Summary
Québec allowance paid to subsidized home-based childcare coordinating offices and providers to reduce the barriers to integrating a child whose impairment causes a significant and persistent incapacity. It funds management of the child's file and implementation of the integration plan, including technical aids, specialized equipment and materials, adaptation of standard materials or of the premises, staff training and replacement, and additional staff to support the child within the group. Services from a professional or specialized firm providing regular, continuous individual rehabilitation are not eligible. The 2026-2027 budget rules set a one-time lump sum of $2,200 for a child newly registered from April 1, 2026, made up of a $1,800 provision for equipment or premises adaptation and $400 for file management, paid to the coordinating office, plus $52.19 per day of occupancy paid to the provider. The occupancy amount is capped at the equivalent of one subsidized place per provider, and that cap increases when more than one eligible child from the same family attends. This allowance now applies to home-based childcare only: for centres de la petite enfance and subsidized garderies it is being replaced from 2026-2027 by the Allocation pour l'intégration des enfants ayant des besoins de soutien particulier. The Allocation exceptionnelle pour l'intégration tops up accompaniment hours this allowance does not fully cover.
Eligibility
Subsidized home-based childcare coordinating offices (bureaux coordonnateurs) and subsidized home-based childcare providers (RSGE) in Québec, for a child whose impairment causes a significant and persistent incapacity. The incapacity must be attested by one of two routes: proof that the child is eligible for Retraite Québec's benefit for children with disabilities, or a report from a professional recognized by the Ministère de la Famille. The parental file must hold that attestation, the integration plan with its annual updates, and the record of actions taken and results obtained.
