Summary
The NAAW stream under the Accessible Canada Fund provides grant funding to projects across Canada that raise awareness of the importance of accessibility and disability inclusion in different sectors and communities. The 2026 call supports approximately 10 to 20 three-year projects delivering National AccessAbility Week activities in 2027, 2028, and 2029, with priorities for the participation of persons with disabilities, underrepresented communities, and Accessible Canada Act priority areas. Eligible costs include wages, professional fees, travel, materials, communications, equipment rental or maintenance, administration, capital assets, disability supports for staff, and accessibility services for events; construction or renovation, ongoing operating costs, and fundraising or lobbying costs are ineligible. Funded projects run up to 3 years, from February 1, 2027 to February 1, 2030.
Eligibility
Not-for-profit or voluntary organizations serving persons with disabilities; organizations and institutions supported by provincial or territorial entities, and municipalities, when partnered with disability organizations; and Indigenous organizations including band councils, tribal councils, and self-government entities. Applicants must demonstrate partnership with at least one disability organization, with partners playing a leadership role in project design and delivery; individuals and provincial or territorial governments are ineligible.
